About the Journal
A Journal of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology (JOACP) is an official publication of the Research Society of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology (RSACP). It relates to the broad and allied specialities of anaesthesiology and is published quarterly in a year. This is a detailed version of the Guide to Contributors which will appear henceforth in every January issue of the Journal. It is intended to advise authors on the preparation of manuscripts.
JOACP conforms to the “Uniform requirement for manuscripts submitted to Biomedical journals as issued by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). No submission will enter the review process until all authors have undersigned the cover letter and the checklist is complete. Authorship issues, conflict of interests and sources of funding etc have to be stated clearly as per the recommended criteria of the ICMJE's Uniform requirements.
Each manuscript received, is reviewed by a team of editors and later sent to two or more external peer reviewers. Papers will be refereed and assessed statistically before acceptance. Acceptance of manuscripts submitted to JOACP is based on significance, originality, and validity of the material presented. Authors will receive a report of the review process and be given a decision on publication within six-eight weeks of receipt of the manuscript. An author may enquire at any time from the editorial office on the status of their submissions. The Chief Editor's verdict on acceptance or rejection is final.
Once accepted for publication, the chief editor retains the right to shorten and subedit the text for style and space. Priority and time of publication will be decided by the chief editor. If your paper is rejected it will be not be returned and will be kept on file for three months and then destroyed. However any original drawing or photographs shall be returned if asked for within the time limit.
